Tinytots Soccer Program

Age 2-6 years

Objectives

Develop Fundamental
Movement Skills

Nurture the development of object control, locomotor, & stability skills through activities like dribbling (object control), running (locomotor) & turning (stability).

Promote Physical Development

Support the growth of strength, agility, and overall physical fitness in a fun & engaging environment.

Enhance Social and Emotional Development

Encourage teamwork, communication, &
sportsmanship, helping children build
valuable social & emotional skills.

Develop of Soccer Skills

Lay the foundation for mastering soccer specific skills / playing a soccer match, including dribbling, shooting, passing, and more.

Enhance Technical and Tactical Development

Introduce technical and tactical aspects of soccer, preparing children for future soccer excellence

How we teach?

Maximize Active Time and Minimize Waiting Time

Keep children actively engaged throughout the sessions, reducing waiting periods and maintaining a high level of involvement.

Introduce Creative Games with Progressions

Incorporate imaginative & progressively challenging games to make learning fun while promoting skill development.

Foster Enjoyment and Fun

Create a positive and enjoyable soccer experience, ensuring that children have fun while learning and playing the game.

Promote Safety Awareness and Equipment Use

Instill an awareness of safety measures and the proper use of equipment, creating a safe and secure environment for all participants.

Maximize Contact with the Ball

Ensure that children have ample opportunities to interact with the soccer ball, promoting ball control and familiarity from an early age.

Sample Schedule of Activities

All sessions will include Foundational Skills: Fundamental movement skills, coordination, age appropriate activities, and games for motor skill development and promoting physical engagement. Where relevant and age appropriate, sessions may also include some match time at the end of the session in the form of small sided games.
Note that this is a sample schedule and order of activities may differ in practice

Week 1-2

Introduction to Soccer Skills

  • Introduction to soccer equipment and rules.
  • Basic movement activities to enhance gross
    motor skills.

Week 3-4

Dribbling Skills

  • Introduction to dribbling with soccer balls.
  • Practicing foot control and small/big kicks.

Week 5-6

Shooting and Coordination

  • Basic shooting exercises with soccer balls.
  • Coordination activities to enhance motor skills..

Week 7-8

Right and Left Foot Control

  • Practice using both right and left feet for dribbling and shooting.
  • Simple shooting drills.

Week 9-10

Dribbling Skills Continued

  • Further development of dribbling skills.
  • Introduction to controlling the ball and toe taps.

Week 11-12

Back Heel and Ball Control

  • Introduction to back heel.
  • Developing control over the ball.

Week 13-14

Dribbling Progression

  • Continue working on dribbling at a higher level.
  • Introduction to goal kicks.

Week 15-16

Penalties and Throw-Ins

  • Practice penalties and throw-ins.
  • Introduction to jumping as a football skill.

Week 17-18

Dribbling Progression Continued

  • Continue working on dribbling at a higher level.
  • Small-scale dribbling games for practical application.

Week 19-20

Shooting and Passing

  • Focus on shooting and passing techniques.
  • Mini soccer games to apply skills.

Week 21-22

Dribbling Progression Continued

  • Further development of dribbling skills at a higher level.
  • Enhancing shooting accuracy.

Week 23-24

all Control and Controlling with Body Parts

  • Learn advanced ball control techniques.
  • Develop the ability to control the ball with different parts of the body.

Week 25-26

Passing and Mini Soccer Games

  • Practice passing techniques.
  • Engage in mini soccer games to promote teamwork.

Week 24-28

Coordination and Kick and Catch

  • Enhance coordination skills.
  • Introduce the concept of kick and catch.

Week 29-30

Kick and Control

  • Focus on kicking and controlling the ball.
  • Learn ball cushioning techniques.

Week 31-32

Defending and Spatial Awareness

  • Introduction to defending skills.
  • Develop spatial awareness on the field.

Week 33-34

Dribbling Progression Continued

  • Continue working on dribbling at a higher level.
  • Work on changing direction and moving sideways.

Week 35-36

Attacking and Small- Sided Games

  • Introduction to soccer equipment and rules.
  • Basic movement activities to enhance gross
    motor skills.

Week37-38

Penalties and Advanced Play

  • Emphasis on attacking skills.
  • Engage in age-appropriate small-sided soccer games.

Week 39-40

Program wrap up

  • Focus on penalty kicks and advanced attacking techniques.
  • Continue with small-sided soccer games.
